We did it! For the 16th time we swam and we raised money to support projects involved in the fight against AIDS.

You showed up in large numbers! 12 teams and 6 lanes filled from the start and busy towards the end. You certainly seemed to have a good time.

You came from far away! We spotted participants from Leuven, Liège, Luxembourg, Gent, Antwerp, Paris, Montpellier, Madrid, Valencia, Oslo, Boston…

You gave what you had! Swim for Life is no marathon and no competition and therefore everybody swims as he or she wants to, according to their own rhythm, physical capacity and liking. Even so, we never recorded that many kilometers in each lane - 292 km in total. Basically you swam from Bruges to Arlon.

You had fun! You swam, but you also danced, sang, chatted, played in the water, had a massage, a beer…

You raised a lot of money! And that’s essential because Swim for Life stands for an afternoon of sponsored swimming to support projects involved in the fight against AIDS. We are very pleased with the result: you raised 31,596.80 euro (result end afternoon). Not bad in these times of crisis!

A big thank you to all swimmers and sponsors!

See you next year – on November 25, 2012!
