FXBVillage Buterere IV – Bujumbura – Burundi

In Burundi, almost 65% of the population lives below the national poverty line, according to the latest estimates available (UN 2016)

Risk-taking concerning HIV/AIDS is often linked to situations of vulnerability prevailing in Burundi: poverty, women’s status, displacement and sexual violence, sexually transmitted diseases (STIs), communication and information limited means, sexuality taboos, religious beliefs, etc.

The objective of the FXBVillage program is to gradually strengthen, over a period of three years, the social, economic, health and personal capacities of HIV/AIDS infected and/or affected families, so they can meet their own needs and those of children in their care.
