Swim for Life is a yearly fundraising swim marathon organised since 1996 by the non-profit organisation (a.s.b.l.) Brussels Gay Sports (BGS). The money raised is fully transferred to concrete AIDS help and prevention projects. More than 400,000 € have been raised so far.

The principle behind Swim for Life is simple: in the weeks ahead of the event, swimmers look for sponsors – among their family, friends and colleagues – to swim a maximum number of pool lengths in relay. They collect donations in cash or promises of donation via bank transfer in the form of donation certificates.
